  • Competitive recruitment cycles and transparent application procedures managed through the IIT Hyderabad recruitment portal.
  • Access to institute-level facilities, funding schemes, and an interdisciplinary campus ecosystem.

Preferred Research Areas

While the department evaluates all strong candidates, it is often particularly interested in faculty whose work aligns with the following broad research themes:

Reaction engineering & catalysis

Kinetics, reactor design and catalytic materials for energy and chemicals.

Process systems & modelling

Optimization, control and data-driven decision making for complex processes.

Separation processes & unit operations

Novel separation technologies and intensified process equipment.

Transport phenomena & multiphase flows

Fluid flow, heat and mass transfer in single and multiphase systems.

Advanced materials & polymers

Functional materials for energy, environment and healthcare applications.

Biochemical & biotech applications

Bioprocess engineering, biopharma, and biological soft-matter systems.

Energy, environment & sustainability

Low-carbon processes, clean fuels and environmental stewardship.

AI/ML for process systems

Machine learning, digital twins and smart manufacturing in ChE.

Other emerging areas

Strong proposals in new frontiers of chemical engineering are welcome.
